Terms of use
Last updated 1st November 2026
These terms cover the Yantyan app for Android and this website. By installing or using Yantyan, you agree to them.
Using Yantyan
Yantyan is free to use and has no ads. You can install it on your own devices and use it for your own knitting.
Please do not use Yantyan to break the law, or to break the rules of any service it works with.
Your patterns
Patterns belong to their designers. Add only patterns you have the right to use, such as ones you have bought or been given.
Yantyan keeps its own copy of each pattern you add, on your phone. It does not sell patterns, and it does not share yours.
Ravelry
Ravelry is a separate service with its own terms. Yantyan works with Ravelry. Ravelry did not make Yantyan and does not back it.
Ravelry may change or switch off its connection at any time. Yantyan works fully without it.
Project notes on Ravelry are public. Check what you are sending before you press send.
Counts and sums
Yantyan counts rows and does the sums on the numbers you give it. Check them against your pattern.
Rows are not metres. Yantyan does not tell you how much yarn you have used or how much is left.
No promises it will always work
Yantyan is provided as it is. It is made by one person, and no app is free of mistakes.
As far as the law allows, Yantyan's maker is not responsible for losses that come from using it. Nothing in these terms limits rights you have as a consumer under the law.
Changes
Yantyan changes over time. Changes to the app appear in "See what's new" in Settings. Changes to these terms appear on this page, and the date at the top moves.
Who makes Yantyan, and the law that applies
Yantyan is made by Beth Parker, in Cumbria, England.
These terms are governed by the law of England and Wales.
